WNN April 20, 2018

This week I contributed to school news. This week's school news was about the senior song and the process of how to make it happen. I also contributed to special segment for an on camera appearance. With the entertainment side of things, i think we need change up the way we shoot things. What I mean by this is that we should like change up our angles like this week when we did special segment and we had a moving shoot. With the increase of viewership, we just need to promote more. Maybe we should have like a promotion party or something like that.  Meeting deadlines is important because it means like we were productive and used our time wisely which means we get our friday privileges.

WNN April,13 2018

This week, I contributed to special segment where i did a first hand prospective on the blood drive that happened at our school. Jai Koga helped with the camera and Mr.Sanderl and Kiara helped with the editing. Also this week, I help Jake with B-roll for his segment. A normal week on WNN is very busy and very stressful. On Mondays, we have a discussion on what we should do for our segments and we begin writing our scripts. Mondays are normally just the planning days. Tuesdays is more of our busy days because (if we are on time) we begin to filming our segment. Wednesdays, we film and begin to edit our segments and start to get the final product. Last but not least, Thursday is the day we have our segments ready to publish.

Communication with students and our team members is key to having a segment ready on our deadline. Communication is important because with the team that we have, we have to really talk through how we need to get things done. We also need to talk about where to film or if any of us need any help. With our teacher, Mr.Sanderl, he really helps with over looking the week in a whole. he looks over every edit and the filming that we do so we can make the best final product possible.

WNN Week 10

10th week anniversary of WNN is here and boy is it a good one!!! This week i did school news with Kiara. This week, we had two news stories. The first one is a story about our Kapaa High FFA team going to Big Island to present a project about bees and the bee environment. The second news story is about our school's walkout when we stand to support gun law reform. I think the overall turn out of the school was truly great to watch. Just seeing the students show their support in amazing. The B-roll was great but it was really more of the same thing in my opinion. With both of my news stories, i really wanted the messages to be relayed to everyone and i like i did because with the b-roll, i had to show the signs and the nat show of the speaker, it really showed the message.

ANB 4.2: Assess the use of broadcast media to elicit a desired response from a targeted audience.

WNN Week 9

This week on WNN, i did special segment with Jessica. Our segment was about SAT tips and how you can overall improve your test taking abilities. To be a successful film Director, you need to envision what you want to do and put that in to action. You need to have guidance so you lead your crew to have a good film. The roles of a Project Manager, Executive Producer, and Director of Photography is the most important part about a film crew and its production because the oversee the filming, edites, and the overall production. I am interested in either a Executive Producer or a Director of Photography because like being involved with the production as a whole and i just like the work as a whole.

ANB 5.0: Evaluate the interactions between various broadcast professions and their impact on broadcast media
development.
ANB 5.1: Compare and contrast professions associated with the production of Broadcast media.

WNN Week 8

Week 8 is live!!! This week i contributed to school news with Jai and Gabe. Our segment was about ideas students. I worked on camera and b-roll. We interviewed about 3 students and got b-roll from 4 different classes all thanks to the teachers. This week's blog, i'm going to be talking about the FCC and the FTC. The FCC is Federal Communication Commission and what they do is that they regulate interstate communications by radio, wires, cable, and satellite. The Federal Trade Commission(FTC) protects consumers by preventing anticompetitive, deceptive, and unfair business practices. They are both independent agency of the United States. The FCC and the FTC protect there consumers by enforcing antitrust laws and they just protect there consumers. One example for the FCC is the famous net neutrality. The FCC saw net neutrality as a threat to the economic and did so competitiveness so they made a vote to remove it. i don't agree with this because this means that the internet wont be free anymore and that you would have to pay your internet provider to get some websites.

WNN Week 7

Week 7 is here!!! I was a host for sports, community and weather with Skyler Wilson. I also on school news with script and B-roll. We have new rules that we have to follow and the rules are 1. all Footage that we get has to be ours. 2. Stay focus on students. 3. B-roll is important. 4. Class is dedicated to work. this week, we did focus a lot on students but it was really hard for sports, weather and community because we didn't have the photo that we needed from us so we had to use The Garden Island. Planning helps with what we are going to work on for the weeks coming and you can't give enough b-roll.

WNN Week 6

Week 6 of WNN is a wrap. This week, I was an on-camera host with my bud, Skyler Wilson. I also helped school news with the b-roll and gathering photos and being a teleprompter for weather, sports and community. With writing the script, it wasn't that bad because we just had to have the same template for the other week with new info and more improvement. With the on-camera host, we wanted to put more conversation in it, make it more live like. Being in front of the camera, you have to have enthusiasm when you talk and most importantly, you have to memorize your lines. You behind the camera means that you can study how the host work so you can improve how you host by seeing others.
